Our Story

In 2014 we were living in a beautifully remodeled Victorian home in Burlington, NJ. The kids were young and I wanted to give them a little bit of the lifestyle I knew growing up on a farm. I wanted to get a few backyard chickens to go with our little raised-bed garden. We had a nice big yard and our town didn't have any ordinance against having chickens. It was a great idea! Well, I thought so but David, not so much.

I was driving to a friend's one day and saw a for sale sign on an old farm. My "good idea" light bulb was burning hot! Farm life is the best life for kids. They learn responsibility, ingenuity, perseverance, great work ethic and compassion for living creatures. Not to mention where their food comes from and what it takes to produce it.

In September 2014 we moved onto a six acre farm. A small plot of land, that was once part of a 120 acre farm, became our home. More than a century of families had worked the land, produced food and raised their children. Now we get to be a part of that legacy. We felt like we lived in the middle of nowhere, Jersey style.

We wroked every day completing project after project creating Knowhere Farm. A place where our children have learned how to grow food, raise animals, build new things from scratch, fix things that are broken, problem solve and create efficient processes. Knowhere Farm is still a work in progress and will always be. As we move through the chapters of our life it evolves with us. I am continually grateful for the experiences we have had. We look forward to years of continuing to learn. We are thankful for the opportunity to share our life with you through events, cow cuddles, farm experiences, and story telling.
